A book that you must read…

What if tomorrow the human race dissapeared? Whether by virus, metor or rapture, what if we just vanished.  The book The World Without Us addresses it.  How long would it take for our planet to heal the scars that we have inflicted on it.   It address the plastic issue, nuclear waste as well as several other topics.  How long would the world that we have built take to waste away and remerdge as the Garden of Eden?

I recommend this book, even if you are not remotely interested in the green movement.  It gives you an unbiased look at the world and how we are treating it.

Another use for plastic…

I am reading a great book “A World Without Us” and one of the chapters mentions plastic.  One of the things that the scientist mentions that I never thought about is that we put plastic beads in our exfoliants.  Then those beads go down the drain and into our sewers.  The beads are so tiny that they escape right through the water treatment plant and go directly into our streams, rivers, lakes and oceans.  So make sure when you are looking for exfoliants you look for ones that include natural ingredients like walnut shells, or grape seeds.

Be an informed consumer and always read the labels of the products that you buy…you never quite know what might be in them.
