Every good story needs a hero so introducing Enviro-Monkey (insert fanfare here).
Enviro-Monkey also known as Heneritta Monkey all around goodie-goodie. She works for a well meaning corporation that tries to do good but their good intentions are normally thwarted by the evil doer Mr. Wastefull. Unbeknowst to Enviro-Monkey, Mr. Wastefull works only 2 cubicles down. Keith, as he is better known as, is messy, wastefull, and just plain mean. Plus he is always picking on the do-gooders in the office, especially poor Heneritta.

Today the well meaning corporation has called a meeting to discuss recycling of office paper. Keith reads the memo and immediately throws it across the office, hitting Heneritta in the head. While Heneritta unwads the paper she thinks to herself, “finally the boss has listened to my pleas about recycling”.
Heneritta makes her way to the conference room at 10 o’clock and lines up with all the other smiling do-gooders. The meeting begins with the boss passing out 20 pieces of paper to everyone in the groop. Heneritta does the math and realizes that with 50 people in the room that’s over 2 reams of paper going to waste. But she continues to smile knowing that something good must be coming out of all this waste. The meeting drones on, while Keith (Mr. Wastefull) starts shooting spitballs towards the do-gooders.
The boss says some interesting things about the offices paper consumption. Like each day the office goes through 8 reams of paper and that equals about 1/2 of a tree. So in a normal year, working 20 days out of each month, that means we go through 1920 reams of paper and distroy approximatly 115 trees. Heneritta is distraught thinking about all the needless distruction. Meanwhile, Keith speaks up and says “that’s not very many trees why do we need to recycle, isn’t that more expensive, isn’t our motto about saving money and not spending more of it?” The boss gathers his thoughts and says “yes, you bring up a good point, this will cost more money and we also would like to start buying 100% recycled paper to use, which is more expensive then regular paper”. Heneritta giggles with glee so loud that Keith looks at her and grins as he hatches he evil plan. “Where will that extra money come from?”, Keith asks. The boss coughs and sputters for a moment, alowing Keith to make another comment. “So does that mean it is going to come out of our pay?” Everyone gasps and starts to mumble about losing money due to recycling. The boss sputters again. “Well where is the money going to come from?”, asks Keith again. The boss starts to speak, when the crowd gets louder. Heneritta sees that this has gotten out of control, leaves the room and comes back as Enviro-Monkey (insert fanfare here)! Then just a suddenly as Enviro-Monkey appeared so does Mr. Wastefull, the crowd gasps!
What will Mr. Wastefull say to the crowd, what will Enviro-Monkey do to Mr. Wastefull, will the Boss finally speak up?

As Enviro-Monkey jumps onto the table snapping the crowd to attention. She turns towards her arch-nemisis as he speaks. Mr. Wastefull exclaims, “The company wants to take your money to fund their recycling efforts”. Enviro-Monkey looks sternly at Mr. Wastefull and blinds him with her LED covered supersuit, she says “WAIT, let the Boss speak up!” The boss gathers his thoughts and speaks, “We will not be taking any money from anyone”. “The money will be coming from a grant from a leading Environmental Company.” “We have researched all of our options and this grant will help us recover the extra cost.” Mr. Wastefull snears at the Boss. Enviro-Monkey asks, “How will they know that the recycling is actually happening and trees are being saved?” The boss remarks, “Each month we will get a certificate that will show how many pounds we have recycled and the amount of trees that have been saved.” Mr. Wastefull yells “NO, I will not be defeted that easily”. Enviro-Monkey looks at Mr. Wastefull and smiles, she says “There will come a day when all those that are wastefull will be defeted because there will always be superpeople like me around to care for the environment.” Mr. Wastefull looks for a way out of the room, he jumps towards the boss and grabs him. “If I can’t win then no one will” and with that he takes the boss and flys out the window.
What will Enviro-Monkey do? What will happen to the Boss? Will the recycling program come to a halt with the Boss gone? Will Mr. Wastefull really win? Tune in next time when we find out!
